“INFINITE POSSIBILITIES”
Mike Dooley, the author of “Notes from the Universe”, wrote this one to make his audio program available in a book. Can’t say enough good things about it…at least not at the moment, as I’m only taking couple of minutes to write this before leaving to visit with two of the grandkids for the day. In the meantime, you can check it out by following this link if you’re interested… http://www.tut.com?a_aid=1e1b53f1
The Tao of Pooh
I read this one a few years ago and having recently shared it with a client, I’m dipping into it again. There is a plethora of wisdom in children’s literature and Benjamin Hoff illustrates the point brilliantly. He wrote The Tao of Pooh to show us “how to stay happy and calm under all circumstances”. His goal was to write a book “that explained the principles of Taoism through Winnie the Pooh and Winnie the Pooh through the principles of Taoism”. Hoff’s idea met with a lot of criticism, but not enough to prevent him from writing it. When asked where he would even begin such an ambitious project, he reminded his critics that “A thousand-mile journey starts with one step” (And if you’ve read my post “Going the Distance” elsewhere on this blog, you know that hits close to home!
I love this little book, full of “Poohisms”. It a quick read that leaves me feeling “en-lightened” (aka-lighter). Perfect for a commute on the subway or a time-out in the park.
You can order it through Amazon. You should also be able to borrow it from the public library.
